Raven Brown has worked at WesCare Professional Services for the past eight years. In that time he’s shown that what he does here is not just a job for him, but a calling to serve others.

Raven advocates on behalf of each and every client entrusted in his care. He helps them find jobs and reach Day Supports goals. He also assists them to and from appointments and volunteer sites, and aids with general everyday living. He’s always there to offer support along the way, even taking time to find different community resources available to his clients, and participating in special outings with them—like going to a movie, cookout, or sporting event—outside of work hours.

When not at WesCare, Raven continues to serve. He’s a dedicated member of his church in Axton, VA, where he works on the usher board and in the missionary department. He also volunteers at the Red Cross in Reidsville, NC and the Home of Refuge Outreach in Eden. On Saturday’s you can find him hosting Bible study at his home.

He really desires to help the individuals he works with, and they know he’s always going to be someone they can count on.”

June 19th marked the tenth year of exemplary service for WesCare team member Yalonda Parker. Over the course of her time here with us, Yalonda has worked in several positions and with every population we serve, from adults to adolescents. She started as a one-on-one contract worker providing part-time periodic work. She was then moved into a residential facility as a Qualified Professional (QP) and eventually became the program director.

Yalonda currently serves as our clinical supervisor and oversees all of our QPs. She also serves on our Clinical Advisory Team, Quality Assurance Committee, and Human Rights Committee.

Yalonda’s 10 years of service have contributed greatly to making WesCare the agency it is today. We are sure the next 10 years will be equally impressive.
